VanAtta's and our local L & L Food Centers are once again teaming up with The Greater Lansing Food Bank and The Food Movers for the 10th annual Grow A Row program. Garden harvest surplus is collected and distributed to area shelters and community kitchens. Gardeners and gardening groups can donate produce by dropping it off at VanAtta's or at the West Saginaw or MLK Blvd. L & L Food Centers on the following dates:
Tuesday, September 7th between 4pm and 7pm
Saturday, September 18th between noon and 3pm
In the previous 9 years this program produced over 33,000 lbs. of food during the harvest season. Donations of purchased fruits and vegetables are also greatly appreciated.
